In a 55-page document and an accompanying speech that the President delivered on Monday, Trump ticked off some familiar talking points, including: “A nation without borders is not a nation. A nation that does not protect prosperity at home cannot protect its interests abroad.” But despite his attempts at maintaining friendly relationships with Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, Trump (or whoever wrote his remarks) fired off some warning shots at both China and Russia, asserting that they “challenge American power, influence and interests, attempting to erode American security and prosperity.” The Chinese government didn’t love Trump’s stump speech—a foreign ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday that the U.S. should “abandon its Cold War mentality and zero-sum game concept,” adding that “China will resolutely safeguard its sovereignty, security and right to develop.” As it turns out, Social isn’t a big fan of the Trump Administration’s approach either: Over the last 90 days, “America First” has a 42 percent positive score. –Alex Shultz
