Trainer’s Favorite … Under Armour Gear

When it comes to workout gear, the choices seem endless, so we asked members of Under Armour’s trainer team to clue us into their favorites.

While I love all of my UA gear, especially the UA Breathe Open Back long-sleeve shirt, for my own training, I’ve always been impressed by the high-quality gear for kids. My son loves his UA Feature Puffer Jacket — it keeps him warm yet he can move around smoothly for hours while wearing it.

Try some of these finds and let us know your favorites.

The Trainer: Rich Hesketh of DECAMAN Athletics
The Gear: UA Sport Wireless Heart Rate Monitor and Headphones
Why: When I work out, I can monitor my training heart rates as well as recovery between intervals, circuits or sets. I also use the wireless ear buds for coaching during video phone training sessions with my athlete clients all over the world.

The Trainer: Steve Saunders, director of performance for the Baltimore Ravens and founder of Power Train Sports & Fitness.
The Gear: Project Rock Delta High Tops
Why: These shoes provide great stability yet very comfortable.

The Trainer: Kari Woodall of BLAZE Fitness and TRX Training
The Gear:  UA Charged Pivot Mid in Metallic Gold
Why: Look at them! They’re gold! No explanation needed.

The Trainer: Marc Coronel of Open Mind Fitness, TRX and Trigger Point
The Gear: HeatGear® Armour Zone Compression Leggings
Why: They are the most comfortable compression pants I’ve ever owned.

The Trainer: Tim DiFrancesco, former head strength and conditioning coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and founder of TD Athletes Edge.
The Gear: UA World’s Greatest Woven Pants
Why: They are like wearing pajamas that look professional, and they’re great for working out because they breathe.

The Trainer: Trevor Anderson, owner of the Better Every Day® Performance Institute and TRX/SPRI master instructor
The Gear: UA Raid Men’s Shorts
Why: I literally wear them every single day. I can train in them, coach in them, wear them casually and perform in them.

The Trainer: Todd Durkin of Fitness Quest 10, lead training advisor for Under Armour, IDEA personal trainer of the year in 2004 and ACE personal trainer of the year in 2005
The Gear: UA Rival Fleece 2.0 Team
Why: Wearing a gray hoodie gets my mind right and allows me to dig down deep and unleash the grit needed to win the day. I wear a gray hoodie in 100% of my early morning workouts, regardless of time of year.

The Trainer: Dan McDonogh, 2012 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year and the founder of Rooster Racing International.
The Gear: UA Swacket
Why: It’s a combo of a jacket and sweater — and one of the most comfortable jackets I have ever worn. It’s perfect for the transition to cooler weather.

The Trainer: Mark Fitzgerald, strength and conditioning coach for the Anaheim Ducks.
The Gear:  UA Storm Armour® Fleece Team Men’s Hoodie
Why: It keeps my body warm in all my preparation for training and as soon as I put it on I know there is work to be done. It’s light enough to keep on for the lift and I just love the overall feel.
