Four Award-Winning Pies We Can't Wait to Taste

Tonight, Gramercy Tavern will host its fifth Annual Thanksgiving Pie Contest. The event is sure to be sweet and we’re lucky enough to be invited—Merrill Stubbs will lend her palate to the cause by judging the event. She’s joining an impressive judging table: Gramercy Tavern Executive Chef Mike Anthony, Gramercy Tavern Pastry Chef Miro Uskokovic, founders of Four & Twenty Blackbirds pie shop Emily and Melissa Elsen, baking expert Rose Levy Beranbaum, and baking cookbook author Nick Malgieri. The contest highlights the restaurants’ pastry chefs and gives them a chance to flex creative muscles, share recipes, and pass around tips and tricks.

In anticipation of the event, we’ve gathered some competition highlights from past years. Try one out at your Thanksgiving table—they’re projects, but most definitely worth it.
