Most Don’t Think Impeacher Tom Steyer is ‘Unhinged’

Tom Steyer made his 10-digit fortune as a hedge fund manager and is now a major progressive donor, focusing much of his efforts on fighting climate change. But he’s concerned about far more than that when it comes to Trump, and he has invested over $10 million in a television ad campaign calling for the President’s impeachment. The ad refers to POTUS as “mentally unhinged” and asks viewers to visit the website NeedToImpeach.com to sign a petition. In response, Trump tweeted last Friday, “Wacky & totally unhinged Tom Steyer, who has been fighting me and my Make America Great Again agenda from beginning, never wins elections!” Steyer has long been on the anti-Trump train. Earlier in October, he sent a letter to every Democratic member of Congress and laid the groundwork for potentially withholding funds from 2018 candidates who don’t fall in line with his drive to dump the Prez. “I am asking you today to make public your position on the impeachment of Donald Trump and call for his removal from office,” Steyer wrote. Over the last 90 days, the handle @TomSteyer has a 51 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
